Sahuarita Christmas Ham

Preheat oven to 275°F

Ham

10 pound precooked spiral cut ham or smaller

1 cup Green Valley Pecan Meal 

1 Egg

Beat the egg in a small bowl until bubbles appear. 

  1. Stir in the Green Valley Pecan Meal. 

  2. Rub mixture over the surface of the ham.

  3. Bake 2 hours and 30 minutes.  If using a smaller ham, bake 15 minutes per pound. 

Glaze 


1 ⅓ cup Maple Syrup

½ cup Butter

1 cup Brown Sugar

¼ cup Lime Juice

2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

1 cup Green Valley Pecan Pieces 

1 cup Green Valley Pecan Halves 

Place maple syrup, butter and brown sugar in a small sauce pan. 

  1. Boil until it becomes a thick syrup. Remove from heat. 

  2. Stir in the lime juice, cayenne pepper and pecans

  3. Pour over top of the cooked ham.
