Marigold Tea

Marigold tea with matcha

Peach Iced Tea with Marigolds and Matcha

After indulging a little too much this holiday weekend, I stirred up this refreshing drink.  If you want a little hair of the dog, add the elixir of your choice.  I recommend whiskey or rum.

Matcha Sugar

½ Teaspoon Matcha

1 Tablespoon Sugar in the Raw

Place the sugar and matcha in a small covered container and shake.

Peach Syrup

1 cup Frozen Peaches

1/4 cup Sugar in the Raw

1/4 cup Water

Place all ingredients into a small sauce pan. Boil until the liquid is thick and the peaches break down. You may need to add more water into the pan if the peaches are not soft and the syrup starts to develop. You will lose some water to evaporation.

Allow to cool until warm to the touch.

Place in a blender and puree until smooth.

Peach Iced Tea

1 cup Cold Black Tea

1 oz Peach Syrup

1 cup Ice Cubes

Dip the rim of the glass into a little peach syrup, then the matcha sugar.

Pour the peach syrup, tea, marigold petals, and ice into a small bottle with a tight fitting lid. Shake for a couple of seconds.

Pour into the matcha rimmed glass and top with fresh marigolds.

Cheers!

Chef Angie
